SIT – Chairs of the Franz Polzhofer Collection
The exhibition SIT displayed a selection of seating furniture from the Franz Polzhofer Collection, created by international designers and curated by INNOCAD Architecture.

“The Path leads from the revulsion at crochet doilies to symphonies by Beethoven, and not vice versa.” The quote by Austrian author Alfred Polgar accompanies the encounter of the protagonists at designforum Steiermark. The displayed pieces are much more than just seating furniture – they are closely linked with Franz Polzhofer, a creative professional, designer and pioneer, who unveils in a very personal way his rich fund from the past. The exhibition design by INNOCAD Architecture does not only showcase the mere object but puts it in relation with large-size pictures of photographer Ulrich Ghezzi. The focus is on the details of the single exhibits, which creates a basis where the stories of the collector blend into the history of the furniture. Designer, interior designer and collector Franz Polzhofer lives and works in in Berlin und Salzburg. Apart from the more than 25 years of working in Salzburg, he has been running SellaBerlin since 2017, a company specialized in contract furniture in Berlin Mitte.
